Originally from High Point, North Carolina, my family relocated to the Emerald Isle area on the beautiful Crystal Coast in 1986. We now consider Emerald Isle home! In 1988, I began selling real estate when interest rates where inflated and you practically couldn't give beach property away. Particularly, I remember having a vacant oceanfront lot listed for sale for $150,000 and it literally took months to find a buyer at a reduced price. In today's market, this same property would sell for nearly $1,500,000!
